We will be holding auditions for our 5th summer of FREE classics in the park. This year we will be putting on Shakespeare's "MacBeth". Here is all the information that you need to know:
Auditions will take place Saturday March 17th (St Patricks Day so wear green, or plaid!) from 12-4pm at Lucid Stage, 29 Baxter Blvd, Portland ME. Please familiarize yourself with the script if you're not already well acquainted with it as we will have everybody read from the play, and maybe have a Shakespearean monologue in your back pocket if we haven't worked with you before. At this time all roles are open! We are looking for every type and everybody who can be subtle and loud at the same time and folks who aren't afraid to make those bold but specific choices while sweating...a lot. Rehearsals will start in June with the show opening in mid July and running for four weekends in Deering Oaks. There will also be a commitment to one weekend in September when we perform in collaboration with UNE at the City Theater in Biddeford. We can promise you a summer of collaboration with some of the most passionate and creative theater artists around, large audiences to play to (average of 200 per night...unless it rains), lots of laughs...and sweat (again) and some well deserved, but never enough, pay. Equity and Non-Equity actors are equally welcomed to join the fray. The director is TBD but you will probably see Rob Cameron, Sally Wood, Bryant Mason and maybe David Butler on the other side of the audition table. To schedule an audition time, please email Rob Cameron at rob@fenixtheatre.com
...if you absolutely cannot do that time/day but are still interested, send me an email and we'll see what we can do.
Hope to see you soon!
